When should I arrive in Bali?
Our yoga retreat begins on the 24th of March 2017. This is also the day of your arrival. We will arrange for you to be picked up from the airport by a designated driver who will help you with your luggage and take you to the resort. To welcome you and celebrate the beginning of our adventure we would like to invite you for a sunset welcome drink. There won’t be any yoga class on that day, so you can sit back, relax by the infinity pool, or enjoy a massage at the Hotel’s in-house SPA to recover from your trip.
What should I pack and bring?
This is a holiday! So you can simply pack what you would usually pack for a week. Bali in March is quite hot and it can get humid. We also recommend you bring a pair of solid shoes if you are planning to explore the ancient temples, jungle trails and other exotic sights. And of course, don’t forget to bring your yoga mat!
Should you forget anything like toiletries there is no need to panic. There are plenty of shops in Ubud, just minutes from the resort, where you will find most of the products that you can find in Australian convenience stores.
What are the VISA requirements for Bali (Indonesia)?
As an Australian citizen you are not required to apply for a tourist visa for Indonesia. However, you will need to have the a Passport that is valid for a minimum of 6 months after your arrival in Bali. On arrival, you will receive a stamp that allows you to stay for a total of 30 days.
What is the best way to get to Bali?
There are direct flights from Brisbane and Sydney to Denpasar Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS). We recommend you visit the following websites to book your flights at the best available rate:
What kind of currency is used in Bali?
While the official currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah, U.S. dollars (USD) are accepted at many places. You will usually get your change in Rupiah. Small bills (USD 1) are good to have around for tipping, as is spare Rupiah. Smaller bills are preferred for shopping at local markets, as a lot of vendors will not be able to change anything greater than a USD $20 bill.
There are ATMs in Ubud which dispense Indonesian Rupiah, and credit cards are accepted at most hotels, higher-end restaurants, travel agencies and souvenir shops. There are numerous certified money changers as well.
Can I book extra nights at the hotel?
If you are thinking of arriving a day or two earlier, or staying a little longer than the retreat, we can easily arrange for extra nights. Please contact us early so we can check availability and inform the hotel in time.
Can I bring my partner/friend along?
Due to many requests in the past, we have opened up our retreats for friends and partners of attendees. If you would like to bring your partner along, or travel with a good friend who is not joining any yoga classes, you can simply select the Partner option when making your booking. Please note that the price will cover accommodation and breakfast only and does NOT include attendance of our yoga classes.
How do I choose my room mate (if twin-sharing)?
Closer to the retreat we will send out an email to all participants, asking you to fill out a short questionnaire online. There you will be able to nominate your room mate. If you don’t have any preference, we will help you with that decision. We also have the option of a private room, should you prefer not to share a room.
